Where did Summer go???

So, I look up and the next thing I know it is September, the summer is basically over, the kids are back at school, and it is time to start running kids here and there taking up almost everyday!! What happened to those lazy days sitting on the beach or going to hang out at the pool all day?? I was thinking about the fact that you go through the school year, waiting for summer to hit so there is no more getting up early, no more having to be here and there at a certain time, no making sure everyone's homework is done, and no practices to get to. Then when summer hits you find yourself wishing for fall to get here. Do you ever find yourself just being content in the day?? What a thing to ponder.

It has been such a long time since I last posted, for no other reason then I was lazy and didn't feel like taking the time to update!! Thanks to Kim though, getting on me everyday, here I am. Our summer since July has been pretty quiet. The kids spent their time at the beach, and the pool almost daily. Kiersten has been working on her surfing, Deven hung with his friend Jared most of the summer, and Camden is just happy to be outside or at the pool. He loves the water.

Now, that school is back in, Kiersten has made the middle school soccer team, and Deven is working hard in 4th grade. He has decided that he wants to join the swim team next summer, so he will be taking lessons this fall and winter to get better at his strokes. Camden started pre-school at a great place called The Children's Workshop. It took him a couple of weeks to get in the swing of things, but he is enjoying it more and more everyday.

Well, I think I have pretty much caught myself up now. I have pictures to post of Kiersten and Camden's birthday party last weekend, but I am waiting on my Mom to forward them to me. So, as soon as I get them I will put them up!!

Until then...here are a few from the rest of the summer!!

The first one is Kiersten doing a back flip off of Aunt Anita's diving board....did not even know she could do it!!! This was taken at the Family Reunion.

The second one is Deven, his friend Jared, and Camden at the Aquarium. Deven did a camp at the end of July and the last day of camp families and friends got to go to the aquarium after hours and look around!! Fun!!

The last one is when Kiersten was in Hagerstown the first 2 weeks of Aug. This was taken at Cold Stone for her cousin Logan's birthday. So here are Kiersten, Logan and Emma having some yummy ice cream!!!

Sunday at the Park!!

Boo was working this past Sunday so the kids and I decided to go and do something other than go to the beach. It seems like whenever we have free time that is where we head, which is great, but we wanted to try and find something else that is just as fun. So we headed to Duck, which is just another town over from where we live, but still on the beach. I had seen this park several times, as I was driving by, but this time we stopped. We walked out on the long deck that goes over the sound and looked at all the crabs and fish that were swimming in the shallow waters. We walked a path through the woods and ended up at this little playground, the kids spent some time there and had lots of fun. Kiersten tried climbing the rock wall in her flip-flops, but was having a little bit of a hard time. Deven loved the spinning-thing...it made him so dizzy!! Camden just loved running around!! I was glad to spend some time with them that didn't involve running from one place to another!! Of course, after we came home, they all wanted to go to the pool, so we spent the rest of the afternoon there. What a great Sunday!!

Haircut Day!!!!

Kiersten and I got our hair done today....I was not expecting to do mine, but I was there and Angie had time! Here is the finished product!!

4th of July!!

What a day we had!! We started off at the beach, and ended at the beach!! Kids loved every minute of it!! We moved our neighborhood too the beach for the day. We cooked out, played in the water, relaxed and then went home rested for a bit, and headed back for fireworks and more food!!

Kiersten spent her time in the water...what else is new, Cam made some new friends and Deven took a little nap!!

We came home, cleaned up and headed back out.....not without taking a few family pics before we left....

Kiersten's All-Star Tournament~~June 26-28

This past weekend was Kiersten's All-Star softball tournament in Roanoke Rapids, NC. The girls did great and finished 3rd. Kiersten got some playing time in, but being her first year playing softball and being the youngest on the team we were proud that she got chosen for the team. She has really began to love softball and we hope she continues with it!!

DALE JR'S CAR!!!

Deven is a big Dale Jr. fan....has been since he was 3. so of course when we found out that Jr's car was going to be at the kid's fair close to our house, we had to go!! It really was a great day for Deven!!
